Exporting

Exporting to Australia

Vehicles exported to Australia fall under one of a number of categories:

Private Export

Australian citizens are eligible to export 1 car every 5 years into Australia. The vehicle must have been owned and used for the 5 year period in the country of residence to be eligible for export to Australia. Please visit the Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government for further information on the eligibility criteria.

Commercial Export

Export is handled by a licensed motor dealer in Australia (a Registered Automotive Workshop – RAWS). The car must never have suffered any damage during its history, must be in an excellent state of repair, and must be in a factory-standard non-modified state. Autoassist is able to provide this service through our network of RAWS in Australia. Please visit the Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government for further information on vehicles that are eligible for export to Australia.
